'Drinkin' wine and killin' time, sitting in the summer sun'Jamiroquai was singing this back in 2005 whilst the grapes were probably going through veraison in Bordeaux during what was to become one of the great vintages of a generation. Is it just me or did everything seem so much simpler back then? We live in a crazy dynamic world right now so I am glad that wine, at heart, really doesn't change all that much. However, a word of warning - do watch out for low flying drones next time you are in a vineyard as they are becoming really rather common!
I was in Burgundy in late February and even though it was unseasonably warm it was lovely to see vineyard workers out in the vineyards pruning and burning the dead wood from the vines, the smell always reminds me of the best bar-b-q I ever had with Argentinian steak cooked on old Malbec Vine Wood. An experience I would love to repeat.
Thankfully, our mission has not changed and we continue to select wines for our 'Enjoy-Now' clients that offer fantastic value for money and delight drinkers. Our 'Enjoy-Later' side continues to focus on Burgundy, Bordeaux and Napa with some Alsace, Tuscany, Piemonte and a few oddities also.
